FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the make-up usually take?

This can vary, but as a general rule I allow 1 hour for The Bride, and 45 minutes per person for everyone else. This can be reduced by 10 minutes per person (excluding the Bride) by adding an assistant to your booking.

I always aim to have everyone ready an hour before you need to leave for your ceremony. This allows you plenty of time for getting into dresses, final touch ups and pictures with out feeling rushed! However this can be tailored to you, e.g. if you'd like more time for getting into dresses and having pictures with your bridal party.

Is there anything I can do to prep my skin for the big day?

Yes absolutely!

I highly recommend starting your wedding skin prep at-least six months before the wedding, especially if you're introducing a Retinol or similar to your routine.

Try introducing  a gentle exfoliant 1-2 times a week, this helps remove dead skin cells and encourages cell turnover, leaving you with a fresh, glowing complexion.

Use an SPF30/50 daily, this will help to avoid any sun damage ahead of your big day (especially if you're prone to hyperpigmentation), and reduces premature ageing. But don't forget to re-apply throughout the day!

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Remember to look after your skin from the inside out, staying hydrated will make a big difference to your skin and how it appears.

And finally, everyone's skin is different, so trying out different techniques and products that work for you is important - however AVOID introducing anything new less than six weeks before the wedding, to avoid unexpected break outs etc.

Can I have my brows waxed/threaded before having my makeup done?

Yes, but this needs to be a MINIMUM of 48 hours before, to allow any redness/swelling to calm down and your pores to close.

Am I able to have a spray tan on my face?

Ideally it's best to avoid tanning the face (this includes natural tanning), this is to avoid any dry patches of skin clinging to the tan, giving you an uneven skin tone, or the tan/sun drying out the skin.

Is it okay to have a lash lift for the wedding?

Yes - if you're not planning on wearing false lashes. However if you'd like to have false lashes on the day it's best to avoid lash lifts for at least six/seven weeks before the wedding.

What can I expect when booking an assistant?

Assistants are there to support the Make-up artist, and to make your morning run as seamlessly as possible, as well as reducing the time it takes to get your bridal party ready. They're responsible for prepping skin, applying lashes and lips, as well as helping with touch ups etc.

What's included in my mini touch up kit?

Your touch up kit includes blot paper, lip applicators, makeup sponge, cotton buds and either a small sample size amount of loose powder or lipstick (depending on your needs).
